In order to implement the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated July 11, 2019 No. PP-4391 “On measures to introduce new management principles in higher and secondary specialized education” and to ensure the implementation of decisions of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated October 21, 2019 “On measures to radically enhancing the prestige and status of the Uzbek language as the state language”, on December 4, 2019, by order of the rector, the Department of Uzbek Language and Literature was founded at the Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service.

The department "Uzbek language and literature" is one of the interfaculty general educational areas of the institute.

The Department of Uzbek Language and Literature consists of 5.25 staff units. The faculty of the department: 1 doctor of philological sciences, 1 candidate of philological sciences, 2 senior teachers, 2 teachers (assistant). Since the foundation of the department, professors and teachers of the department have published articles in more than 30 prestigious foreign journals. On the part of the teaching staff, 4 articles were published in the journal Scopus. 3 textbooks, 2 monographs and one teaching aid have been published. The number of spiritual and educational events held by professors and teachers of the department at the institute level is more than 70.
