The Faculty of Service of the Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service has a long history. For many years, the Faculty of Service operated as part of the former Samarkand Cooperative Institute under the name "Faculty of Engineering and Technology." Under its current name, it was established in 2019 on the basis of the Faculty of "Service and Tourism." The faculty was formed on the basis of the departments of "Marketing," "Tourism," and "Service."
The Faculty of Service carries out its activities on the basis of the Regulations of the Faculty of Service, approved on October 27, 2019, which were developed in accordance with the model Regulations on the faculty of higher education institutions.

In the 2025-2026 academic year, a total of 1,144 students are studying at the faculty, of whom: 389 are in the 1st year; 283 are in the 2nd year; 228 are in the 3rd year; and 244 are in the 4th year.
In the 2025-2026 academic year, the faculty has 11 staff members on its official staffing list. These include the Dean, the Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs, the Deputy Dean for Youth Affairs, 2 methodologists, and 6 Tutors.
A total of 51 professors and instructors work in the 3 departments of the faculty, including 18 professors and instructors in the Department of "Marketing (by sectors and fields)," 16 professors and instructors in the Department of Tourism, and 9 professors and instructors in the Department of "Service."
