A preventive round-table discussion on combating corruption was held with the participation of an investigator from the regional prosecutor's office

On 15 February, a round table on the topic "Corruption – the Scourge of Society" was held in the small conference hall of the Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service, led by S.K.Ergashev, Investigator for Special Cases of the "Combating Organized Crime and Corruption" Department of the Samarkand Regional Prosecutor's Office; M.Barotov, Advisor to the Rector of the Institute; and X.Shakarov, Head of the Institute's Anti-Corruption "Compliance Control" System Management Department.

Participants expressed their views on cases of corruption, its dire consequences, its harm to society, and its impact on future generations. During the round table, another preventive meeting was held with the staff of the faculty deans' offices, heads of departments and tutors, as well as heads and staff of the institute's divisions.

It was once again emphasized that punishment is inevitable for any person who commits a corruption-related crime. It was also stated that every employee is responsible for implementing the "Corruption-Free Sector" project on the institute's premises.

At the end of the event, questions from the participants were answered.
