The appearance of a teenager who lived in the Mesolithic period 8,300 years ago, whose remains are kept at the Hå Gamle Prestegard Museum in southern Norway, has been reconstructed. Live Science reported this in an article.

Archaeologists discovered the remains of a teenager nicknamed Vistegutten, which means "the Vista boy" in Norwegian, in a Middle Stone Age cave in the Randaberg municipality of Norway. The researchers reported that the skull of the 15-year-old boy was unusual; in particular, his skull had fused prematurely.

In addition, the fact that the head had grown backward rather than sideways indicates that the teenager had been affected by scaphocephaly. The scientists said the boy's height was 1.25 meters, which is considered small even for the Mesolithic. The boy's skeletal remains show that he was healthy and well-fed.

Furthermore, archaeologists found numerous animal remains at the site, which indicates that food was plentiful. Kitchen waste, bone ornaments, and fishing tools were also found at the site. This attests that ancient people lived and worked in this area.
