Department of Marketing



In 1990, even before gaining independence, for the first time in Uzbekistan, the department of “Marketing” was created at the Samarkand Cooperative Institute, and the rector Soliev A.S. becomes the founder and first head of the Department of Marketing.
The department "Marketing" is a profile department of the faculty "Service".
The department trains undergraduate specialists in the direction 60412500-Marketing (by industry and areas) and masters in the specialty 70412501-Marketing (by industry and areas).
The department has 5 doctoral students in the specialty 08.00.11-Marketing:

Department "Marketing" is located at Samarkand city, Amir Temur street, house 9, building 3, office 311.
The end of the Soviet era was marked by the beginning of the perestroika period in the second half of the 1980s, when the country sought to liberalize the economy, although to a lesser extent, adopting the experience of developed countries and applying its promising directions. At the Samarkand Cooperative Institute, which at that time was directly subordinate to Moscow and had the status of the Central Asian Institute, the subject "Market Studies" was taught, and for the first time, on the initiative of the rector Ahmadjon Solievich Soliev, the subject "Marketing" was taught.
Since September 1989, the new subject has been included in the working curriculum of 3rd year students of the Faculty of Economics as an optional course. Soon the subject "Marketing" will be transferred to the main disciplines taught for the specialties of the direction "Economics" and "Commodity Science". This will serve as an important step towards the creation of the Department of "Marketing".

The Department of Marketing will initially be staffed by professors on the basis of the Departments of Organization and Technology of Trade and the Department of Economics of Trade. At the initial stage of the development of the department, it should be noted the significant contribution of A.S. Soliev and Kh.R. Khamroev. Lecturer of the department Kh.R. Khamroev is engaged in educational and methodological work of the department, creates the first scientific programs, methodological manuals.
In 1993, Professor Ibragimov R.G. was appointed head of the Department of Marketing. He headed the department from 1993 to 2002. In 2002, the Department of Commodity Research and Commodity Expertise joins the Department of Marketing. In 2002, Professor, Ph.D. R. Normakhmatov, who headed the department in 2002-2013, associate professor, Ph.D. F.A.Akhmedzhanova in 2013-2014, senior lecturer, Ph.D. I.Kh.Ibragimov in 2014-2017, Professor, Doctor of Economics M.T.Alimova in 2017-2018, in 2018-2019 the head of the department was acting assistant professor, Ph.D. V. Berdikulov.
From 2020 to the present, the head of the Department of Marketing is Doctor of Philosophy in Economics ( PhD ), Associate Professor Kholmamatov D.Kh.
