Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation

Duties of the Vice-Rector for Research:

- implementation of the laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the decrees and orders of the President, the resolutions of the Oliy Majlis and the Cabinet of Ministers in the field of education and personnel training, as well as the regulatory legal documents and instructions of the Ministry of Education;

- general management and supervision of the activities of the university's problem-oriented research laboratories, departments and other research units, and attracting research projects and grants; regular monitoring of the effectiveness of research results; establishing innovative cooperation with manufacturing enterprises; resolving issues related to the introduction of innovations into production; and ensuring that scientific and technological developments are presented at various fairs and exhibitions;

- general management of the process of preparing and publishing research materials, including journals and collections of research papers, by University staff, as well as of replenishing the library collection with educational-methodological and scientific periodicals covering all areas of the University's educational and research activities;

- coordinating the planning, organization and holding of national and international scientific and scientific-practical conferences, ensuring the participation of University professors, teachers and staff in scientific conferences held at other organizations and enterprises, assisting in the formation of scientific schools at the University, and encouraging all effective research activity;

- ensuring the training of highly qualified scientific and pedagogical personnel at the University through the development of Master's degree programs, trainee-researcher-candidates and senior research fellow-candidates, and assisting University staff in obtaining academic degrees and titles in a timely manner and in the establishment of specialized councils;

- managing and supporting the processes of identifying, selecting and working with talented young people;

- in cooperation with the International Relations Department, participating in shaping and approving the topic and content of the research component of foreign grants, monitoring the implementation of all research work, projects and grants and the holding of international scientific conferences, and preparing and submitting all necessary reports to higher authorities;

- managing the process of preparing winners of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan scholarship from among trainee-researcher-candidates, and of the prestigious named scholarships, such as the Navoi, Beruni, Ulugbek, Zulfiya and others, from among students;

- managing and coordinating the creation of the material and technical base necessary for developing research activity at the University, and the provision and distribution of the relevant scientific instruments and equipment;

- compliance with executive discipline in accordance with Resolution No. 12 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan of January 12, 1999, "On measures to strengthen executive discipline"; with labor and academic discipline; with the rules on labor protection, safety engineering and industrial sanitation; with the University's Charter, Internal Regulations, the decisions of the Academic Council, the orders of the employer, and the goals and tasks set out in the regulatory legal documents on the education system; as well as with his or her own official duties.
